JOBS OF THE MONTH

Position: Sourcing Manager … Location: Los Angeles (must be able to commute) … Description:  Manage all aspects of product sourcing within a fast-paced craft company. Identify and develop new global supply partners and consolidate current supply base. Identify gaps in supply chain and internal organizational systems and create effective business processes between functional areas that result in improved outputs. Identify and develop global sourcing performance measures and goals, data collection mechanisms, and reporting systems, and integrate into a global sourcing dashboard. Develop logical business plans for global sourcing recommendations based on thorough knowledge of supplier capabilities, capacities, and costs. Provide the organization with crucial market intelligence obtained through interaction with current/potential supply partners worldwide. Prepare succinct, meaningful analyses of domestic and international materials pricing and supply trends for assigned products and/or commodities. Develop contractual relationships with global supply partners through fiscally sound negotiations. Must be able to travel internationally on trips, which may be overnight or last up to a week or more at a time.

Position: Category Manager … Location: Plymouth, MA  (some relocation assistance provided) … Compensation: $75-85K … Description: Develop overall category strategy and product portfolio roadmap for this gift/home dec category. Develop category growth plan in terms of total sales dollars and average SKU profitability. SKU rationalization for new and carry-over items for both core and seasonal lines. Assure product profitability. Maintain target margins. Research and recommend new product line concepts and ideas through competitive analysis, review of data received from the field, feedback from the sales and marketing staff, analysis of research, and periodical information. Analyze category from multiple perspectives (emerging trends, internal data, competitive landscape) across multiple channels including catalog, retail, home parties, Internet, gap analysis, and market research). Partner with design, global sourcing, research and development, and marketing and communications departments to ensure product deliveries on strategic and financial objectives.
